Heroin worth Rs. 250 crore, being smuggled to Delhi inside apple cartons in a truck from Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara, was seized by the Narcotics Control Bureau today, news agency ANI has reported.

The police said the contraband was being taken to the Azadpur Mandi in north Delhi.

However, the NCB along with the Jammu police intercepted the truck on a highway toll plaza in Jammu and Kashmir.

An NCB official said 50.10 kg of heroin was recovered from the truck. 

The driver of the truck was detained and is being questioned, the police said.

Aiming to forge an anti-BJP front ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Naidu alleged that every institution, including CBI and RBI, had been destroyed,"It is our responsibility to join hands together to save and protect this great nation and also save democracy and the Constitution," he told reporters after meeting Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy here. Naidu hinted that the 1996 model of forming the government with Deve Gowda as prime minister with outside support of the Congress, could also be one of the experiments to form the government at the centre. "PM candidate, we will decide. Massive fire at bio-diesel factory

Visakhapatnam District Collector N Yuvaraj, who was at the accident site, told PTI that nearly 40 fire fighting engines from Navy, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, and Port Trust were making all efforts to put out the fire, that erupted at the Bioxmax Fuels Ltd company premises in Duvvada area here at around 7.30 PM yesterday.

No casualties were reported in the incident so far, he said, adding that the blaze occurred in the storage area and no worker was present in close proximity of the mishap site.

Biomax Fuels Ltd has a manufacturing capacity of five lakh tonnes of bio-diesel from multi-feedstock at VSEZ.

The Collector said out of 18 storage tanks located at the site, 12 caught fire. It is expected to be brought under control by this evening as the entire oil in 
the tanks has to burn completely, he said.
